In-Depth Review
Rooms and decor
Rooms start at 47 sqm in an Art Deco style mixed with something more modern, finished in premium materials throughout. Bathrooms are marble, with a soaking tub and Bulgari amenities. Reviewers single out two things in particular: how clean the rooms are, and how quiet. Some Park Suites come with a private balcony that looks straight onto the Bolshoi Theatre — the kind of view you won't find at many other hotels in Moscow.
Food and amenities
The standout up top is the rooftop pool and sundeck on the highest floor, which opens onto a 360-degree view of Moscow — the Bolshoi, the Kremlin, Red Square and the Moscow City towers all sit on the skyline. It's at its best during the golden hour before sunset. The Compositor restaurant serves Armenian and Russian food in a smart setting and is popular with locals as well as guests. There's a full spa and a fitness centre too.
Location and getting there
The hotel sits on Neglinnaya Street, a 2-minute walk from the Bolshoi Theatre — which makes it the obvious pick if you're in town for a show. Teatralnaya metro is about 200 metres away, and Red Square is a 10-minute walk. To reach Old Arbat you ride the metro 2 to 3 stops, roughly 10 minutes. It's a strong base for anyone who wants both the theatre district and Moscow's historic sights within easy reach.
Things to know before booking
It's not cheap: rooms start at about $415 a night and run up to around $1,200 for the top categories. The rooftop pool is seasonal — generally May to September — so don't count on it for a winter stay. And Old Arbat Street isn't walkable from here; you'll be taking the metro a couple of stops to get there.
Our take
If your trip revolves around the Bolshoi, this is the address — you're 2 minutes from the door. Add the 360-degree rooftop pool, the well-regarded Compositor restaurant and solid Park Hyatt rooms, and the 8.8/10 score makes sense. Just go in knowing the pool only runs in summer and that Old Arbat is a short metro ride away rather than a walk.
