Inside there are about 795 rooms and suites, starting with Seaview Rooms around 55–70 square meters with 3-meter ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass over the Arabian Gulf, and climbing to Signature Suites and Royal Suites at penthouse level — the kind Beyoncé's family booked during the opening week. Most rooms have private balconies, and many come with a jacuzzi pool out on the balcony itself; the image of soaking in warm water while the Burj Al Arab and Atlantis The Palm frame the view is exactly what makes review after review say "worth every dirham." The palette runs gold, cream and deep blue, with over 90 artworks placed through the corridors and lobby. Floors are cool marble for bare feet, bathrooms split rain shower from soaking tub, and amenities come from Diptyque. If you want modern luxury that's not over-decorated and not underdone, this hits the mark.

Food and amenities

If anything separates Atlantis The Royal from the rest of Dubai's luxury pack, it is the 17 restaurants under one roof, lined up with a depth no Dubai hotel had before. Start with Nobu Dubai, the Middle East flagship for Nobu Matsuhisa; Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, the only outpost outside London of the Fat Duck chef; Jaleo and Bazaar Meat from José Andrés; Milos, the Greek room from Costas Spiliadis; La Mar, Peruvian from Gastón Acurio; and Ariana's Persian Kitchen, the one guests keep singling out as memorable — all reachable from one lobby. Easygoing options include Gastronomy by Gwen and the fine-dining Resonance by Ahmet Dede. The headline pool is Cloud 22, an infinity pool on level 22 with a pool bar and 360-degree views over Palm Jumeirah and the wider Dubai skyline. Down at sea level, The Royal Beach stretches out with cabanas and beachfront pools, while AWAKEN Spa brings 30 treatment rooms and a Turkish hammam. The nightly Skyblaze dancing-fountain show with fire bursts is the in-resort headliner, the lobby holds the world's largest jellyfish tank, and hotel guests get free daily access to Aquaventure Waterpark next door — the biggest and most awarded waterpark in the Middle East.

Location and getting there

The hotel sits at the outermost point of the famous palm-tree-shaped reclaimed island of Palm Jumeirah, giving a roughly 270-degree sea view. From up high you see the full Palm sweeping inland, the Burj Al Arab across at Jumeirah, and the Downtown skyline with Burj Khalifa stitched neatly across the horizon. Driving times are about 15 minutes to Dubai Marina, 25 minutes to Mall of the Emirates, 30–35 minutes to Downtown Dubai and Burj Khalifa, and 35–45 minutes to Dubai International (DXB) depending on traffic. The hotel runs paid limousine transfers to the airport and into the city; the budget-friendly alternative is the Palm Monorail station at Atlantis Aquaventure (about 5 minutes' walk from the lobby), which runs straight to Palm Gateway and connects to the Dubai Metro Red Line at Nakheel Harbour & Tower. The trade-off you accept is that this outer-crescent location makes walking out to eat or shop genuinely impractical — but if your plan is to live inside the resort for the whole stay, there is more than enough to fill the days.

Things to know before booking

Straight talk to help you decide — the most common review complaint is price. Rates start around $520/night for the standard Seaview Room and climb to $1,000–1,600+ some nights in the November to March peak. Michelin-room tabs run $230–430 per head easily. Budget travelers should set a ceiling first. Second, the outer-crescent Palm Jumeirah location sits well away from Downtown and the classic sightseeing strip. Getting to Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa or Downtown means 25–35 minutes in a car, with no direct metro link — you rely on the Palm Monorail plus taxi or Careem. If you wanted to wander out for street shopping or dinner outside the resort, this will frustrate you. Third, this is a huge property. Peak-season reviewers mention crowded pools, breakfast-buffet queues and slow lift waits; with the hotel under three years old, some service corners still haven't bedded in as smoothly as Dubai's old guard. Finally, Skyblaze is stunning but loud — guests in lower floors on The Royal Beach side sometimes catch the music and water noise during evening shows. Ask for a higher floor or the opposite wing if you sleep light.

Reading through thousands of recent guest reviews, Atlantis The Royal is a destination resort for travelers who want the hotel to be the main character of the trip rather than a place to sleep. You genuinely never need to leave: 17 Michelin-pedigree restaurants, the Cloud 22 rooftop pool, the world's largest jellyfish tank, the Skyblaze show, and Aquaventure Waterpark all sit inside the property. If your dream is a balcony with a private jacuzzi pool, morning coffee watching the sun rise over the Burj Al Arab, an afternoon on the rooftop, dinner at Nobu or Dinner by Heston, and cocktails at Cloud 22 while the fountains dance — this nails it better than anything in Dubai right now, and the Best Hotel in Middle East 2026 award isn't an exaggeration. If you instead want to wander the city, ride the metro daily, or stay closer to the Dubai average rate, the location and price won't fit.
