Cape Dara is about the 270-degree Pattaya Bay view off the Naklua cliff that nowhere else in town can match — the cliff-edge infinity pool and name-remembering service matter more here than the central address Hilton leans on.

In-Depth Review
Rooms and decor
Cape Dara Resort opened in 2010 at 256 Moo 5, Wong Amat Beach, Naklua, on the Naklua headland at Pattaya's northern tip. It's a boutique resort from the Cape Hotels group, the same people behind Cape Nidhra Hua Hin. The building runs 27 storeys and 261 rooms, with the entry-level Deluxe Sea View starting at 45 sq m — bigger than the standard Pattaya 5-star — and climbing to the 150 sq m Cape Royal Suite with its curved 180-degree balcony. The look is contemporary Thai in blue, cream and gold, with Cape Comfort beds dressed in 300-thread cotton. Every room has a balcony, 10 to 15 sq m with a sofa, and some sea-side rooms from floor 14 up look straight out to Koh Larn. Bathrooms are marble with a rain shower, a separate tub and Pañpuri amenities. Real reviews on Trip.com (8.9/10) and Booking (8.5) mostly call the view worth it and the service boutique-warm.
Food and amenities
The heart of Cape Dara is the cliff-edge infinity pool — 200 sq m with its rim running right to the edge of the cliff, plus a jacuzzi and poolside cabanas. The 25th-floor Sky Pool sits at the very top with the full 270-degree Pattaya Bay view and runs 06:00-22:00. Sauna and steam room are free for guests, and the 80-metre private beach — sand mixed with stone — is reached by the funicular cable car. Radius Restaurant on floor 1 handles the main breakfast and dinner buffets, while the 26th-floor Sky Bar pours signature cocktails at $9-13 with a 17:00-19:00 happy hour and a Pattaya Bay sunset. Dara Spa runs Thai-inspired treatments from $70-145, the gym is open 24 hours, and the free shuttle runs into town six times a day. Overall score: 8.9/10.
Location and getting there
Cape Dara sits at 256 Moo 5, Wong Amat Beach, Naklua, on the Naklua headland. The Sanctuary of Truth wooden castle is a 5-minute drive (1.5 km), and Wong Amat Beach is also 5 minutes away. CentralFestival Pattaya Beach is a 15-minute drive (6 km) on the free shuttle; Walking Street is 20 minutes by road, a Bolt running about $6-8. Bali Hai pier is 20 minutes and the Floating Market 25 minutes. U-Tapao Airport (UTP) is 36 km / 50 minutes away, a Bolt around $26-31, and Suvarnabhumi (BKK) is 138 km / about 2 hours, with Bell Travel running about $7 per person.
Things to know before booking
Straight talk: first, it's 6 km from Walking Street, so if you're out every night you'll be leaning on a $6-8 Bolt or the limited shuttle — not as handy as staying near Central. Second, the private beach is small and rocky, sand mixed with stone, better for photos and sitting than a long swim; for a long white-sand beach, look at Centara Mirage or Movenpick Na Jomtien. Third, the funicular stops at 19:00 and after that it's 80 steps down — though hardly anyone goes to the beach at night. Fourth, the balconies get windy; on a breezy day, open the door carefully or things on the table may blow off.
Our take
Cape Dara Resort is the right call for couples and honeymooners who want a 270-degree Pattaya Bay view off the cliff, with the cliff-edge infinity pool, rooms from 45 sq m, a balcony in every room, some with a Koh Larn view, and name-remembering boutique service. Rates open around $137. If the trip in your head is a couple chasing the best view in town, or a calm, upscale honeymoon away from the noise, this is about as clean a fit as you'll find. If you want a central address or you're traveling with small kids, Hilton or Centara Mirage will suit better. Overall we give it 8.9/10 — best for couples, honeymooners and anyone who wants a wide sea view.

The Honest Verdict — pros & what to know
- The widest sea view in the north-Pattaya area — a full 270 degrees over Pattaya Bay off the Naklua cliff, which genuinely no other hotel in town can give you.
- Rooms are big: entry-level Deluxe Sea View starts at 45 sq m, larger than the usual Pattaya 5-star, with a full 10-to-15 sq m balcony in every room. Some floor-14-and-up sea-side rooms look straight out to Koh Larn.
- Service has a small-boutique warmth — staff remember your name, and the overall feel is more personal than a big resort.
- A free shuttle bus runs into town six times a day, so you're not stranded out on the headland even without a car.
- The cliff-edge infinity pool runs 200 sq m with its rim right at the edge of the cliff, plus a 25th-floor Sky Pool, and sauna and steam are free for guests.
- It's 6 km from Walking Street, so a night out means a Bolt at roughly $6-8 or the limited shuttle — not as convenient as staying near Central.
- The private beach is small (80 metres) and rocky, sand mixed with stone, better for photos and lounging than a long swim. For a long white-sand beach, Centara Mirage or Movenpick Na Jomtien suit better.
- The funicular closes at 19:00, after which it's 80 steps down to the beach — though few people head down in the evening anyway, and the balconies can get windy on breezy days.
