In-Depth Review
Rooms and decor
Every room here comes with a private balcony facing the mountains. The look is Alpine-modern — local pine and natural stone, high-quality bedding, and bathrooms tiled in marble. There's a Nespresso machine in the room, and some of the Junior Suites and Suites add a jacuzzi out on the balcony. It's the kind of room you book to actually settle into rather than just sleep in.
Food and amenities
The centrepiece is a 1,500 sqm mountain spa: a Finnish sauna, a steam room, a salt cave, and six treatment rooms working with Comfort Zone products from Italy. The indoor pool connects to the outdoor one, and the outdoor pool stays heated year-round with panoramic Dolomites views — getting in while snow falls is the thing this place is known for. The restaurant serves Ladin and Italian food, the regional cooking of the Dolomites.
Location and getting there
You're on the eastern hillside of Cortina d'Ampezzo, about 1.5 km from the town centre and Corso Italia. A free hotel ski shuttle runs morning and evening to the Tofana slopes and the Faloria gondola station for winter skiing. In summer it's a base for hiking the Dolomites trails and mountain biking.
Things to know before booking
The trade-off for the forest quiet is distance: at 1.5 km out, you'll use the shuttle or a car to get into town. Prices push up hard in peak season, especially around Christmas and the Olympics. And a few reviewers note that dinner in-house runs on the expensive side, so you may want to head into town for some meals.
Our take
Faloria is for honeymooners, couples after a wellness retreat, and anyone who'd pick mountain views over a central address. With a 1,500 sqm spa, an outdoor pool aimed at the Dolomites, and rooms from about $337 a night, it lands as better value than Cristallo for a spa experience in the same league. Score 8.7/10.
