Rooms and decor
Our Premier Skyline room sat on floor 35 and ran about 45 sqm, with floor-to-ceiling glass looking straight out at the Yangtze River, the Dongshuimen Bridge and the full wall of downtown skyscrapers. The King bed came with goose-down pillows and 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, and the marble bathroom had a jacuzzi set under the high window so you bathe with the city in front of you. Amenities are Diptyque from Paris. We turned the lights off the first night and just watched the towers blink — it reads like a Blade Runner set. The interior palette is copper and deep grey, closer to a Shanghai hotel than a regional one.
Food and amenities
The indoor pool on floor 33 is an infinity-edge design about 18 metres long, with a glass rim that opens onto the city — you swim with the Yangtze stretched out below. The Sichuan restaurant, Hua Tian Lou on floor 39, serves Mandarin fish in mala sauce and a 12-spice roast duck for around $40 a head, so you get the real numbing-spicy mala flavor without gambling on a street stall. Breakfast in the Atrium runs more than 100 items across Asian, European and Middle Eastern stations, and the spread is a big reason guest scores land near 9.3.

Glenview ITC Plaza is part of the ITC Plaza complex, the tallest tower in the area, designed by US firm HKS. The sky lobby sits on floor 23, so the skyline view starts the instant you arrive, and the high-speed lifts pop your ears on the way up. It's a 5-minute walk to Linjiangmen metro station on Line 1, which runs to Liziba (the station where the train passes through a residential building) and out to the Ciqikou old town. The Hongyadong stilt houses are about 8 minutes on foot, and the Jiefangbei pedestrian street is right at the base of the tower.
Things to know before booking
The entry rate near $100 climbs toward $200 once you request a high floor with the skyline view — and that view is the reason to be here, so budget for it. Jiefangbei is the loudest, busiest district in Chongqing and the crowds run late, so ask for a higher floor set back from the street if you sleep light. Rooms also fill fast in high season and over Chinese holidays, when the starting price vanishes; book two to four weeks ahead to keep it.
