No hotel on this list puts you deeper inside the wholesale market. The stalls trade from 09:00 to 17:00, so for a seller who needs to be in the market every day, the time saved is huge — no taxi fares, no dragging bags across town. The Haizhu Square station on metro line 2 is a 3-minute walk, and from there the rest of the city and the airport via the Airport Express are easy to reach.

Things to know before booking

Set expectations for an old landmark, not a new resort. The building dates to 1968, and while the 2018 refit helped, the amenities stay basic for the tier. The wholesale streets all around are lively and crowded during the day, with the stalls in full swing from 09:00 to 17:00, so light sleepers should ask for a higher, quieter room. And during the Canton Fair, rooms go fast — lock in your dates well ahead if they overlap the show.
