In-Depth Review
Rooms and decor
The 200 rooms run an Edo-modern look — dark black wood, copper and grey silk — drawn up by the Granvia group's art consultant. Every room has a fridge, a flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi and a Japanese-standard bathroom behind clear glass. The Standard Twin runs 18 sqm: genuinely good-looking and smartly laid out, though no one will call it big. Rooms here sit around 17-20 sqm, which is normal for this part of Tokyo.
Food and amenities
The reason to book is the Intergate Lounge on floor 14, free for every guest. You get juice, tea and coffee through the day, plus a wine hour from 17:00 to 19:00 pouring red, white and light cocktails alongside cheese and snacks. People use it every evening before heading out for dinner in Ginza — a real saving when a glass outside runs 2,000 yen and up. Breakfast is a Japanese-Western buffet on the same floor, 7:00 to 10:00 (about $17 if your rate doesn't include it). There's free Wi-Fi, dry cleaning and a 24-hour front desk. Trip.com guests give it 9.1.
Location and getting there
You're in the middle of Kyobashi, between Tokyo Station and Ginza. From Kyobashi metro Exit 2 it's about a 2-minute walk along Chuo Dori to the lobby, done in dark wood and copper. Tokyo Station Yaesu is 8 minutes on foot, and Ginza Mitsukoshi and GINZA SIX are 5 minutes away — a touch closer than the station. Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi is 8 minutes, and Tsukiji Outer Market is about 12.
Things to know before booking
Rooms are standard Tokyo business size, around 17-20 sqm — fine, but not spacious. There's no fitness centre or spa on-site; the Intergate Lounge is the spot to relax instead. And breakfast isn't always bundled in — some rates skip it and charge about $17 on the day, so check what your booking covers.
Our take
This one fits couples, honeymooners and solo travellers who like a design hotel and want a free wine hour on a $144 budget. If you're after an Edo-modern feel plus a free evening drink before you walk out to dinner in Ginza, it's the best-looking, best-value pick in the 4-star pack around Tokyo Station.
