In-Depth Review
Rooms and decor
The Standard Twin runs about 22 sqm — compact by any measure, the way most Chinese budget-brand rooms are, but the layout uses the space well. Decor is the classic Jinjiang Inn look: modern furniture, a warm earth-tone palette of soft browns and creams, two twin beds with clean white linens and firm-enough pillows. The bathroom has a shower with a strong water heater and instant hot water, plus a free kettle, cups and tea. Wi-Fi is free and fast enough to work on, and the flat-screen TV carries the usual Asian channels.
Food and amenities
Breakfast is a buffet with dim sum, soy milk, youtiao fried dough sticks, Changsha noodles, fried eggs and fruit — familiar, filling, and bundled into the rate on some packages. The standout you rarely find at this price is free parking in the middle of downtown, which is a real win if you've rented a car. The front desk runs 24 hours, and they'll hold your bags between checkout and a later flight.
Location and getting there
Location is the whole point. The hotel sits between metro Line 1 and Line 2, each about a 5-minute walk, which puts most of the city within easy reach. Wuyi Square and Wanda Plaza are a 10-to-15-minute stroll. The Taiping Street food alley is close enough to walk to for dinner — guests come back raving about the fried stinky tofu, spicy crayfish and Changsha sugar sweets. The Huangxing Road pedestrian street is right there too, good for shopping well into the night. You genuinely don't need a taxi to get around.
Things to know before booking
This is a budget hotel, and it shows in a couple of honest ways. The 22 sqm rooms are snug — fine for a night or two, tight if you're settling in. Facilities are basic for the 3-star tier, so don't expect a gym, pool or much beyond the essentials. And Wuyi Square stays busy all day and late into the evening, so light sleepers should request a higher floor or a room away from the street.
Our take
Jinjiang Inn Changsha Wuyi Square is the budget play with a prime address — rates of about $34 to $69 a night for a spot between two metro lines near Wuyi Square. It's built for solo travelers, couples on a budget, and business visitors staying a single night. Real guests back that up with scores around 9.0 to 9.5.
