After reading through plenty of real reviews, Loews Kansas City Hotel earns its pitch: new downtown luxury, a walkable location, a Convention Center link, and warm staff. If the trip in your head is a brand-new tower with a wide room, waking up to walk to the Power & Light District or ride the KC Streetcar around Downtown, walking into a meeting at the Convention Center over the skywalk by day, then heading up to the 7th-floor rooftop bar for a drink over the city at night, this is about as good a fit as it gets — especially for couples, solo travelers, and business guests in town for an event. But if the main goal is to drive in for a game at Arrowhead and you want the closest, cheapest stadium-side base, the highway hotels on the Independence side may suit you better.
