Location and getting there

From there it is easy to reach the Hakone Open-Air Museum (1.2km, about 15 minutes) or ride the ropeway up to Owakudani (3.6km). Gora Park is only 350m away, and the area's restaurants are about 300m off. Hakone-Yumoto Station is 8km away via the Hakone mountain tram.

Things to know before booking

A few honest caveats. First, it is a small property, so on-site amenities are limited compared with a larger hotel or a full ryokan. Second, the guest score is mid-range at 8.4 (Agoda 8.4, Booking 8.3, Trip 8.4) rather than top of the list. Third, it does not aim for the full ryokan onsen experience — if soaking in your own private hot-spring bath is the whole point of your trip, this is not the place. And because rooms are few, it tends to book up, so reserve ahead.
