Moca Hotel is a mid-size hotel that was renovated in 2023, so the rooms and building feel newer than the budget places elsewhere in the area. Open the door and you catch the smell of fresh paint and new carpet. Rooms are modern and white, running 18–22 sqm, with a firm queen bed, a reading light by the bed, plenty of USB sockets, fast free Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, and a 40-inch LED TV. The bathroom is clean with a strong rain shower. The 8.6 cleanliness score holds up for a budget hotel.

Food and amenities

There is an airport shuttle, but it costs $3 a ride rather than being free like the IU Hotel. If you are really counting baht, a Grab taxi from DMK is cheaper at around $2–3. The upside is the shuttle leaves every 30 minutes from 04:00 to midnight, which covers both pre-dawn and late-night flights. The front desk is open 24 hours, luggage storage is free before and after check-in, and there is free coffee and tea in the lobby all day. A hot coffee at 5 a.m. before the airport run saves hunting for a place once you reach the terminal.

Location and getting there

It sits just 1.27 km from DMK — close enough that you can wake up at a sane hour before an early flight. Parking is free, with room for about 30 cars.

Things to know before booking

The shuttle is the main catch: it is not free, so factor in $3 each way or take a Grab instead. There is no gym, pool, or spa. And the rooms are slightly smaller than the IU Hotel at 18–22 sqm, though the hotel makes it work with wall-mounted furniture — an open wardrobe with a hanging rail, storage under the bed, and a small fold-down desk. Walls are reasonably soundproof and nights are quiet.

Moca Hotel Don Mueang is best for solo travelers on a budget and anyone flying through DMK in the $21–34 a night range. If you want a free shuttle, the IU Hotel (#2) is the call — it runs about $4 more but includes the ride. But if a freshly renovated room matters more to you, Moca is the better-value answer.
