Things to know before booking

It's a serviced apartment, not a full hotel, so expect lighter on-site service than the 5-star names higher up this list. It also runs pricier than a standard 3-star in the same Luohu area — studios start around $70 a night. And rooms fill up fast in high season, so lock in your dates early.

Modena by Fraser Shenzhen suits families on a longer trip, work teams doing business with the likes of Tencent or Huawei who need to stay for weeks, and anyone who values the privacy of cooking for themselves. We'd call it the modern long-stay apartment of the Luohu district.
