In-Depth Review
Rooms and decor
The 142 rooms run a compact 14–17 sqm — standard for a Japanese business hotel — in calm brown-and-white tones. What sets Sotetsu Fresa Inn apart at this price is the tall-frame bed, raised about 5 cm above the usual so you can sit on the edge with your feet on the floor, set on a pocket-coil mattress in every room. You also get an air purifier and a humidifier, free Wi-Fi, a fridge, a flat-screen TV and a coffee maker, plus a Japanese-standard bathroom with a bidet and a separate shower and tub.
Food and amenities
Breakfast here is a buffet for just $7 (about $7) — the cheapest in the Tokyo Station cluster, against $15 at Mitsui Garden and $17 at Intergate. The chain's signature is the fresh-made onigiri: tuna mayo, umeboshi, grilled salmon, bukkake and odd seasonal fillings, and our team rates them the best of the bunch. Alongside that are salad, freshly cooked egg, miso soup, bread and coffee.
Location and getting there
The hotel sits in the middle of Kyobashi at 2-9-2 Kyobashi, about a 6-minute walk from Tokyo Station's Yaesu side — you cross Showa-dori and pass a 7-Eleven to reach a plain brown-and-white lobby that is more functional than fancy. Kyobashi station on the Ginza line is only 3 minutes away, and Exit 7 is the quick way in.
Things to know before booking
The rooms are real business-hotel size — 14–17 sqm, smaller than the 17–20 sqm you get at Mitsui Garden or Intergate. The front desk does not run 24 hours, so you have to arrive within the stated check-in window, and there is no gym or spa on site.
Our take
This is the best-value bed near Tokyo Station, full stop. Rooms start near $91 — the cheapest on our list — yet you still get the dependable Sotetsu standard. It suits business travellers, couples and solo trips on a roughly $90–115 budget who care more about location than square metres. Trip.com guests score it 8.8/10.
