In-Depth Review
Rooms and decor
Ten Square has 131 rooms done in a modern-classic style that leans into the building's linen heritage. You get King-size beds, good-quality linen, and marble bathrooms. The rooms on the Donegall Square side look straight onto Belfast City Hall, which is a genuinely lovely view — one guest wrote that they "opened the curtains to City Hall filling the whole window, a view no other hotel here gives you." The higher-grade suites add a separate sitting area. The trade-off is that some rooms instead face neighbouring buildings, so it's worth asking for the City Hall side.
Food and amenities
The Grill Room is the draw — dry-aged steak from Northern Irish farmers, the kind of place locals save for a special night out. The set lunch lands at around $25 and is strong value. The Linen Lounge bar keeps a classic feel and pours cocktails alongside a wide range of Irish whiskey; afternoon tea here is about $32 a head. The gym is small but covers the basics, and the concierge can sort theatre bookings at the Grand Opera House or a Game of Thrones locations tour. Wi-Fi is free, and there's paid parking nearby.
Location and getting there
The hotel sits on Donegall Square South, directly beside Belfast City Hall — the most central position on this list. Great Victoria Street Station is a 5-minute walk, the Cathedral Quarter is 8 minutes on foot, and the Crown Liquor Saloon is 5 minutes away. The Titanic Belfast Museum is about 10 minutes on the Glider bus. Belfast City Airport (BHD) is a 15-minute drive, and Belfast International runs 30-40 minutes by car.
Things to know before booking
The gym and spa are smaller than what the big chains offer, so set your expectations there. There's no rooftop bar the way the Grand Central and Bullitt have one. And because not every room faces the square, some look onto the buildings next door — request the City Hall side to be sure of the view.
Our take
If your priority is being in the dead centre of Belfast, Ten Square is hard to beat — you're next to City Hall and walking distance from the stations, the Cathedral Quarter, and the theatre district. The 1885 linen-warehouse shell gives it a character the chains can't match, and the Grill Room is a real reason to eat in. From about $91 a night, it's good value for a central boutique 4-star.

- From about $91 a night, it's good value for a central boutique 4-star.
